1. Parents need to sign and return this information slip to show that the information got home. They also need to sign the written portion of the student's "A" project.
2. Every project must have a written report about the project, even performances. The report should be neat and spelled accurately and have the student's name and classroom teacher's name on it.
3. The written report must be signed by a parent.
4. All written reports must be in the child's words. If s/he can't read all the words aloud, that will signal that the words are not the child's and it will disqualify the "A" project. Please feel free to help your child practice reading it out loud.
5. A print-out from the Internet is the Internet's report. It will not count as an "A" project. Students may use the print-out for information for their own reports, IN THEIR OWN WORDS.
6. As long as the project somehow connects to music, is the child's work (parents can help some), and has a written report that explains the connection to music, it is considered to be an acceptable topic.
7. Instruments made by children must show some planning and effort. No more drums made out of boxes or two paper plates stapled together!
8. Make-your-own instrument projects have 3 parts: make it, play it for us, write down all the steps it took to make it. And the parent signature, of course.
