Do A Design

--an easy way to do easily graded music worksheets--
Did you get the idea about easy??

This concept came to me from Joan Fyfe, a fabulous music teacher from New York. I have adapted and reused this idea for years. This site offers some of my original worksheets to other music educators who like the Do A Design concept. Please feel free to adapt the ideas to your needs but don't "lift" my worksheets and sell them to anyone. They are copyrighted material.

The concept? Students color in a segment of a design to identify an answer. The teacher justs looks at the finished design and knows how accurate the answers are - goofs kinda stick out.

The design for each workshop is based on a real quilt block.
The content of the worksheet is identified next.
Each worksheet can be downloaded by clicking the link.
The color block download is the answer key. It displays a single block and several blocks joined so you can see the optical magic that occurs when you put blocks together as in a real quilt. This can be very attractive in a classroom display. Be sure to cut off the excess worksheet before you start joining students' worksheets together.
The blackline template is available for only two blocks. It's just the uncolored, unlabeled outlines of the design. You can use it to make your own design, if desired.
